Paris

Hotel recommendations:

  • - Pullman: love this hotel, very good, pretty expensive
  • - Mercure: very good, but also often pretty expensive
  • - Ibis: great value for money, small rooms

As you can see we usually opt for a hotel of Accor, one of the largest hotel chains with its headquarters in Paris. We stay in these regularly and recommend these to everyone who’s asking.

Food:

Breakfast:

We book without breakfast and usually buy some croissants on the go to have by the Eiffel Tower.

Recommendations:

  • Boulanger Paul - bakeries around the city with bread rolls, macarons and other sweets
  • Eric Kaiser - Louvre - to Go or at the tiny terrace, very nice fresh breadrolls and coffee
  • Bistro Saint Dominique - Rue Saint Dominique lovely place to have a sit down breakfast
  • my absolute favourite - buy your charcuterie at Les Viandes de Champ de Mars - buy your bread rolls at Boulangerie Les petits gourmands both in Rue Saint Dominique and enjoy your breakfast in the park at the Eiffel tower.

Lunch:

We usually opt for lunch on the go, because we do not want to waste time. Usually we take some breadrolls at Eric Kaiser, Paul or when we are in need of a break, a sit down lunch Café Gustave - 23 Av. de la Bourdonnais

Dinner:

Because we usually take our dogs with us to Paris we try to power them out during the day so we are able to have dinner together and let the girls sleep in the hotel room. The most restaurants in Paris are busy and narrow.

Coffeeshops/places to take a break:

  • Mandarin Oriental at Rue Saint Honoré
  • Starbucks Opera
  • Angelina at Rue de Rivoli

All lists are updated regularly and are lists with restaurants, beach clubs, bars etc. in Maastricht, Aachen, Saint Tropez etc.

The dogs:

We take them with us into the city. Walk from the hotel to the Eiffel tower ans let them play with the other dogs. Then we walk to the Louvre and let them play again.

See black X for the unofficial playgrounds. Don’t let you dog off leash when no one else does it, then there might be police, and they are only friendly to locals.

The route we usually take, takes up the whole day:
